Planning your Summer Clean-Up: Do you have a plan?
Another school year is coming to a close… in the blink of an eye, Summer Break will be here. You’ve performed routine maintenance and daily cleaning throughout the school year, but now it’s time to tackle those big projects that have been put-off while your building has been full. Do you have a plan?
We put together a quick checklist of tasks to consider prior to the school year ending;
- Ordering Supplies & Equipment (April/May)
- Floor Finish, Floor Stripper, Floor Pads, Chair Glides, Dusters, etc.
- Rental Equipment (Floor Machines, Lifts, etc.)
- Staffing/Scheduling (April/May)
- Hiring extra staff
- Scheduling tasks around Summer Activities (Summer School, Sports, etc.)
- Layout floor plan and details on when specific tasks are to be performed.
Once school is out and the students are gone, the real work begins. Dusting, cleaning, stripping, waxing, moving furniture, etc.
- Interior Cleaning (June/July)
- Classrooms
- Restrooms
- Cafeteria
- Gyms
- Windows
- Lockers
- Hallways
- Exterior Cleaning (July/August)
- Windows
- Sidewalks
- Brick
- Stadiums
A clean, well-maintained school building promotes a more positive learning experience for students and a better teaching environment for teachers. Fewer absences and sick days are products of a healthy building. Your work does not go unnoticed!
Now that you have your building ready for the first day of school, consider evaluating your equipment and performing some Preventative Maintenance to ensure things are ready for next use.
